International siteAmerican Bully Price in India (2026)
An American Bully puppy in India costs about ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000 depending on which type you are buying, with Pocket and XL Bullies at ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 and exotic or rare-colour dogs beyond ₹4,00,000. The type matters more than the papers here: Inside Scroller prices six different Bullies under one breed name, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest is larger than for any breed on these pages.

American Bully puppy, kci-registered breeder
₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000
The range our sources give for a KCI-registered American Bully.
Inside Scroller prices a Standard Bully at ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000 and a Classic at ₹50,000 to ₹1,20,000. It does not price KCI registration separately for this breed, which is unusual and worth knowing: the Bully market here trades on type and colour rather than papers.
In Delhi NCR
₹65,000 to ₹2,50,000 and up
Delhi NCR is a metro. Across the metro cities our sources name, a American Bully runs ₹65,000 to ₹2,50,000 and up. That is the general market across seller types, not the figure for one seller.
Inside Scroller’s metro rows run ₹65,000 in Hyderabad and Pune to ₹90,000 to ₹2,50,000 and up in Mumbai. It prices Ludhiana and Punjab separately at ₹60,000 to ₹1,50,000.

Indian climate
Needs active cooling in summer
Poodles.in says the American Bully enjoys 60 to 90 minutes of daily activity but tires fast in heat because of its shortened muzzle and brachycephalic airway, and advises keeping exercise cool and moderate. It also names demodectic mange and skin allergies among the breed’s documented problems.
Legal status
The American Bully may have been caught by the 2024 central advisory, which no longer stands.
The American Bully was not named in the 2024 central advisory by that name, but the list did include the American Staffordshire Terrier and the Pitbull Terrier, along with an open-ended "Terriers" entry that named no breed at all, and the American Bully descends from those lines. Whether it was caught was never settled, because the Karnataka High Court quashed the circular on 10 April 2024, the Delhi High Court set it aside in April 2024, and the Union government told the Bombay High Court in January 2025 it was not acting on it. Housing societies that restrict Pitbull-type dogs often make no distinction, so check yours.
Checked . This is a summary of what the sources below report. It is not legal advice, and the position can differ by state and by housing society.

The price
American Bully price by seller type
Who you buy from moves this price more than anything else does. Each row is the range our Indian sources state for that kind of seller, with the sources named in the notes column.
| Where from | Price in ₹ | What the sources say |
|---|---|---|
| Unregistered home breeder | ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000 | Poodles.in gives ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000 for the breed as a whole. Inside Scroller prices a Standard Bully at ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000 and the tier 2 market at ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000. |
| KCI-registered breeder | ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000 | Inside Scroller prices a Standard Bully at ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000 and a Classic at ₹50,000 to ₹1,20,000. It does not price KCI registration separately for this breed, which is unusual and worth knowing: the Bully market here trades on type and colour rather than papers. |
| Show quality | ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 and up | Inside Scroller puts a Pocket Bully at ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 and an XL at ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 and up, calling the Pocket the most sought-after type in India. |
| Imported line | ₹1,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 and up | Inside Scroller prices a Micro Bully under 14 inches at ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,00,000 and up, noting it is extremely rare and carries health concerns, and exotic or merle colours at ₹1,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 and up. |
| Pet shop | Not priced by breed | No source we found prices a pet-shop puppy breed by breed. One Indian source puts a breed puppy from a pet shop at ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 across all breeds. |
| Shelter or indie rescue | ₹0 to ₹2,000 | Most shelters and indie rescues charge nothing, or a nominal ₹500 to ₹2,000 that often covers the first vaccination and the sterilisation. |

Variation
What changes a American Bully's price
Which Bully you are buying is the whole question. Inside Scroller prices six: Pocket at ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000, Standard at ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000, Classic at ₹50,000 to ₹1,20,000, XL at ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 and up, Micro at ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,00,000 and up, and exotic or merle at ₹1,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 and up. Ask which one is on the paperwork.
Colour carries the largest premium of any breed we priced. Merle and tri-colour dogs run past ₹2,00,000 on Inside Scroller, for a coat pattern.
Smaller costs more here, which is the reverse of most breeds. The Micro Bully is the dearest type on the list and Inside Scroller flags health concerns in the same line.
Papers barely feature. None of our sources prices KCI registration separately for this breed, which tells you the Indian Bully market trades on type and colour rather than pedigree.
Region matters: Inside Scroller prices Ludhiana and Punjab as a separate market.
What does not change it
No source we read prices a American Bully by age, so the calculator on this page has no age input. A puppy is priced as a puppy and an older dog is usually a rescue rather than a sale. No source states a price difference between the sexes in this breed either, so the calculator does not ask.

What a American Bully costs to keep
The calculator at the top of this page adds these up for you. The puppy price is not in the total: this is what the first year of keeping the dog costs on top of buying it.
| Line | Figure | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Food | ₹2,250 to ₹7,000 a month | Inside Scroller gives ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 for high-protein premium food and Poodles.in ₹2,250 to ₹3,000. Poodles.in adds that the breed loves food and carries an obesity risk, so portions have to stay measured. |
| Grooming | ₹400 to ₹1,200 a session | Every 4 to 4 weeks, an interval we have estimated because no source states one. A short coat. Poodles.in notes the skin folds around the face need attention to stop bacterial growth, which is the real grooming job in this breed. |
| Puppy vaccinations | ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 | The full first-year course. |
| Starter accessories | ₹3,000 to ₹13,000 | Bed, crate, bowls, collar, leash and toys, once. |
Food and grooming are this breed's own sourced figures. The other lines are the same for any dog and are sourced on the price calculator page.

Not in the figure
- Spaying or neutering: about ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 at a shelter or a subsidised clinic, and ₹6,000 to ₹25,000 privately, more for a big dog.
- Training classes: about ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 for a first course, and far more for a guarding breed.
- Air conditioning: a real cost for a thick-coated breed in the plains, which our sources price per breed rather than generally.
- Anything that goes wrong: one night in intensive care runs ₹12,000 to ₹25,000 and a cruciate repair ₹1.2 to ₹1.8 lakh.
Adult size
How big a American Bully gets
Adult weight and height are the United Kennel Club standard, quoted in the standard's own words below. The growth figures are our own calculation on a published veterinary growth standard, scaled to this breed's adult range.
- adult weight
- 13.6 to 31.8 kgadult weight
- height at the shoulder
- 36 to 58 cmheight at the shoulder
- life expectancy
- Not statedlife expectancy
- Weight, as the United Kennel Club states it
- The UKC standard sets no weight. It describes the breed by height classes and says the dog should give the impression of great strength for its size.
- Height, as the United Kennel Club states it
- Classed by height rather than weight. Inside Scroller, pricing the Indian market, gives Pocket at 14 to 17 inches, Standard and Classic at 17 to 20 inches, XL at 20 to 23 inches and Micro under 14 inches.
The UKC standard gives height classes and no weight at all, so the weight range here is our own working estimate taken from the height classes and is not a standard figure. The height range is the span of the classes Inside Scroller lists for the Indian market, not a single standard.

The same growth engine drives our puppy weight calculator, which works in pounds. For a dog in the large size class, weekly weight gain drops to almost nothing by about 11 months. Height finishes earlier than weight: this breed stands 36 cm to 58 cm at the shoulder when grown.
Poodles.in is specific: the shortened muzzle and brachycephalic airway mean the breed tires fast in heat, so exercise has to stay cool and moderate even though the dog wants 60 to 90 minutes a day.
Skin is the other Indian problem. Poodles.in names demodectic mange and allergies among the documented issues and says the facial folds need attention to stop bacterial growth, which humidity makes worse.
The muscle mass that the market pays for is itself a heat problem: a heavier dog sheds heat more slowly, and the types that cost most are the heaviest.
Legal
Is the American Bully legal in India?
Checked . This is a summary of the court reports and news listed at the foot of this page. It is not legal advice. The position can differ by state and by housing society, and a fresh central notification would change it again. The full list of breeds the circular named, and what each court did, is on the dog price page.
Buying
How to buy a American Bully responsibly
Ask what breed is on the registration, not what the dog is called. American Bully, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier are four breeds and our sources price them differently.
Check your housing society first. Supertails notes many metro societies classify Pitbull-type dogs as restricted, and most do not distinguish a Bully from a Pitbull.
Treat an extreme exotic or micro dog as a health question before a price question. Inside Scroller pairs the highest prices on its own list with a note about health concerns.
The checks that apply to any puppy
- See both parents, in the place they live. A puppy mill cannot offer you that, which is what makes it the most useful question you can ask.
- Ask for the vaccination and deworming record with dates and what was given. The full first-year course runs ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 on our sources.
- Check the KCI papers if you are paying for them. Both parents must be KCI-registered and carry KCI-approved microchips for a litter to be registrable, and the breeder must file within 90 days of the birth. Papers record parentage, not health.
- Avoid a pet shop if you can. Supertails writes that many Indian pet shops source from puppy mills, and advises anyone who does buy from one to insist on the vaccination records and see a vet within 48 hours.
- Consider a rescue. A shelter or indie rescue charges ₹0 to ₹2,000, often covering the first vaccination and the sterilisation.
FAQ
American Bully prices: the questions people ask
- What is the American Bully price in India?
- About ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000 for a standard dog, ₹80,000 to ₹2,00,000 for a Pocket or XL, and ₹1,00,000 to ₹4,00,000 and up for exotic or rare-colour lines, on Inside Scroller and Poodles.in. The type, not the papers, sets the price.
- What is the difference between an American Bully and a Pitbull?
- They are different breeds with different standards, though the Bully was developed from Pitbull-type lines. The UKC recognises the American Pit Bull Terrier with a desirable weight of 35 to 60 pounds for a male; the American Bully is classed by height rather than weight and is built much heavier. In the Indian market they are often sold interchangeably, which is why asking what is on the registration matters.
- Why do Pocket and Micro Bullies cost more than bigger ones?
- Fashion. Inside Scroller calls the Pocket the most sought-after type in India and prices the Micro, which is under 14 inches, highest of all at ₹1,50,000 to ₹3,00,000 and up, while noting in the same breath that it is extremely rare and carries health concerns.
- Is the American Bully banned in India?
- It was not named in the 2024 central advisory by that name, though the list included the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Pitbull Terrier and an open-ended "Terriers" entry. The circular was quashed by the Karnataka High Court and set aside by the Delhi High Court, both in April 2024, and the government told the Bombay High Court in January 2025 it was not acting on it. Your state and your housing society are the people who can tell you where you stand. This is a summary of reported sources, not legal advice.
- How much does an American Bully cost to keep in India?
- Inside Scroller puts the monthly total at ₹7,000 to ₹15,000, with high-protein food the largest line at ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 and professional training carried as essential at ₹1,500 to ₹3,000.
- How big does a American Bully get in kg?
- 13.6 to 31.8 kg as an adult, on the United Kennel Club standard, which states it as The UKC standard sets no weight. It describes the breed by height classes and says the dog should give the impression of great strength for its size.. Height at the shoulder is 36 to 58 cm. Most of the weight gain is done by about 11 months for a dog in the large size class.

Native alternatives of about this size
A American Bully runs 13.6 to 31.8 kg on the United Kennel Club standard. Two native breeds of about that size, with the weight our sources actually measured, and the thing that usually decides it in India: whether the dog needs cooling.
- RajapalayamTamil Nadu14 to 32 kg on our sources, against 13.6 to 31.8 kg for a American Bully.Suits the Indian climate · NBAGR registered
- KombaiTamil Nadu20 to 26 kg on our sources, against 13.6 to 31.8 kg for a American Bully.Suits the Indian climate · NBAGR registered
This is not a claim that a native breed is the better dog. It is a claim that it is usually the invisible option: nobody advertises it, so nobody considers it. On climate there is something to choose: our sources say the American Bully needs active cooling in summer, and say the opposite of the breeds above.
