Boxer Price in India (2026)

A Boxer puppy in India costs about ₹12,000 to ₹40,000 from an unregistered home breeder and ₹28,000 to ₹70,000 with KCI papers, with show lines to ₹1,20,000 and European imports beyond that. It is one of the better-value large breeds here, and the thing to understand before buying is the short muzzle: Poodles.in says India’s heat demands cool-hour activity.

Indian climate

Needs active cooling in summer

Poodles.in says the Boxer is a high-energy athlete needing 60 to 120 minutes of daily exercise, yet its short muzzle makes it brachycephalic and prone to overheating, so India’s heat demands cool-hour activity. It adds that in India’s heat the facial wrinkles collect sweat and bacteria faster than in cooler climates.

The Boxer was not on the list in the 2024 central advisory.

The price

Boxer price by seller type

Who you buy from moves this price more than anything else does. Each row is the range our Indian sources state for that kind of seller, with the sources named in the notes column.

Where fromPrice in ₹What the sources say
Unregistered home breeder₹12,000 to ₹40,000What's The Cost puts a pet-quality Boxer at ₹12,000 to ₹35,000 and Supertails at ₹15,000 to ₹40,000. Inside Scroller's range starts at ₹15,000.
KCI-registered breeder₹28,000 to ₹70,000 and upSupertails gives ₹40,000 to ₹70,000 for a KCI-registered Boxer, Inside Scroller ₹35,000 to ₹70,000 and up, and What's The Cost ₹28,000 to ₹52,500.
Show quality₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000Supertails gives ₹70,000 to ₹1,20,000 for a champion bloodline conforming closely to the standard.
Imported line₹1,20,000 to ₹2,00,000 and upSupertails prices imported parents with FCI documentation at this band. Inside Scroller says German working-line imports with BG Boxer Club registration can reach ₹70,000 and up, which is considerably lower.
Pet shopNot priced by breedNo source we found prices a pet-shop puppy breed by breed. One Indian source puts a breed puppy from a pet shop at ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 across all breeds.
Shelter or indie rescue₹0 to ₹2,000Most shelters and indie rescues charge nothing, or a nominal ₹500 to ₹2,000 that often covers the first vaccination and the sterilisation.

Variation

What changes a Boxer's price

Papers are the main step, roughly doubling the price from ₹12,000 to ₹40,000 unregistered to ₹28,000 to ₹70,000 registered.

Colour has a specific effect in this breed. Supertails explains that white is a recognised but non-standard colour caused by a lack of pigmentation rather than albinism, and that white Boxers cannot be shown under KCI or AKC rules, which affects what they sell for.

Females are priced ₹4,000 to ₹10,000 above males on Inside Scroller.

Our sources disagree about imports: Supertails puts FCI-documented imported parents at ₹1,20,000 to ₹2,00,000 and up, while Inside Scroller says German working-line imports reach ₹70,000 and up.

What does not change it

No source we read prices a Boxer by age, so the calculator on this page has no age input. A puppy is priced as a puppy and an older dog is usually a rescue rather than a sale. No source states a price difference between the sexes in this breed either, so the calculator does not ask.

Running cost

What a Boxer costs to keep

The calculator at the top of this page adds these up for you. The puppy price is not in the total: this is what the first year of keeping the dog costs on top of buying it.

LineFigureWhat it is
Food₹2,500 to ₹5,500 a monthInside Scroller gives ₹2,500 to ₹5,500 and Supertails ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 for a muscular, high-energy dog needing a high-protein diet.
Grooming₹400 to ₹1,000 a sessionEvery 4 to 4 weeks. A short coat. Poodles.in says the real work is wrinkle care, drool management and skin sensitivity rather than the coat itself.
Puppy vaccinations₹3,000 to ₹8,000The full first-year course.
Starter accessories₹3,000 to ₹13,000Bed, crate, bowls, collar, leash and toys, once.

Food and grooming are this breed's own sourced figures. The other lines are the same for any dog and are sourced on the price calculator page.

Not in the figure

  • Spaying or neutering: about ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 at a shelter or a subsidised clinic, and ₹6,000 to ₹25,000 privately, more for a big dog.
  • Training classes: about ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 for a first course, and far more for a guarding breed.
  • Air conditioning: a real cost for a thick-coated breed in the plains, which our sources price per breed rather than generally.
  • Anything that goes wrong: one night in intensive care runs ₹12,000 to ₹25,000 and a cruciate repair ₹1.2 to ₹1.8 lakh.

Adult size

How big a Boxer gets

Adult weight and height are the American Kennel Club standard, quoted in the standard's own words below. The growth figures are our own calculation on a published veterinary growth standard, scaled to this breed's adult range.

The same growth engine drives our puppy weight calculator, which works in pounds. For a dog in the extra large size class, weekly weight gain drops to almost nothing by about 11 months. Height finishes earlier than weight: this breed stands 55 cm to 64 cm at the shoulder when grown.

The Boxer is the awkward case: a genuine athlete that wants one to two hours of exercise a day, fitted with a short muzzle that makes it overheat. Poodles.in resolves it the only way possible, by moving the exercise to the cool hours.

The wrinkles collect sweat and bacteria faster in Indian heat, which Poodles.in names directly, so face cleaning is a routine job.

Cardiac screening is the breed’s other known issue. Supertails carries an annual wellness visit plus cardiac screening from age four onward.

Drool is a fact of the breed rather than a problem to solve.

Legal

The Boxer was not on the list in the 2024 central advisory.

For what the 2024 advisory was and what the courts did with it, see the dog price page. Checked . Not legal advice.

Buying

How to buy a Boxer responsibly

Ask about cardiomyopathy and cancer in the line. Poodles.in names both as well-known Boxer risks.

If you are offered a white Boxer at a discount or a premium, understand what it is: a recognised but non-standard colour that cannot be shown, with no bearing on whether it makes a good pet.

Hear the parents breathe. The muzzle is short enough to matter in this climate.

The checks that apply to any puppy

  • See both parents, in the place they live. A puppy mill cannot offer you that, which is what makes it the most useful question you can ask.
  • Ask for the vaccination and deworming record with dates and what was given. The full first-year course runs ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 on our sources.
  • Check the KCI papers if you are paying for them. Both parents must be KCI-registered and carry KCI-approved microchips for a litter to be registrable, and the breeder must file within 90 days of the birth. Papers record parentage, not health.
  • Avoid a pet shop if you can. Supertails writes that many Indian pet shops source from puppy mills, and advises anyone who does buy from one to insist on the vaccination records and see a vet within 48 hours.
  • Consider a rescue. A shelter or indie rescue charges ₹0 to ₹2,000, often covering the first vaccination and the sterilisation.

FAQ

Boxer prices: the questions people ask

What is the Boxer price in India?
About ₹12,000 to ₹40,000 from an unregistered home breeder and ₹28,000 to ₹70,000 with KCI papers, across six Indian publishers. Show lines run to ₹1,20,000.
Are white Boxers worth more or less in India?
Neither, in any way that reflects the dog. Supertails explains that white is a recognised but non-standard colour caused by a lack of pigmentation, not albinism, and that white Boxers are not eligible for KCI or AKC show competition. That affects their value to a breeder, not their suitability as a pet.
Can a Boxer cope with Indian summers?
With managed timing. Poodles.in says the short muzzle makes the breed prone to overheating and that India’s heat demands cool-hour activity, which is awkward for a dog that wants 60 to 120 minutes of exercise a day.
Is a Boxer a good family dog in India?
Our sources are positive about the temperament and clear about the energy. Supertails calls it one of the most affectionate and family-oriented breeds you can bring into an Indian home and prices training at ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 in the first year, which it strongly recommends.
How much does a Boxer cost per month in India?
Inside Scroller gives ₹6,000 to ₹14,000 a month, with food at ₹2,500 to ₹5,500 and grooming minimal because of the short coat.
How big does a Boxer get in kg?
22.7 to 36.3 kg as an adult, on the American Kennel Club standard, which states it as 65-80 pounds (male), females are about 15 pounds less than male. Height at the shoulder is 55 to 64 cm. Most of the weight gain is done by about 11 months for a dog in the extra large size class.

India’s own breeds

Native alternatives of about this size

A Boxer runs 22.7 to 36.3 kg on the American Kennel Club standard. Two native breeds of about that size, with the weight our sources actually measured, and the thing that usually decides it in India: whether the dog needs cooling.

This is not a claim that a native breed is the better dog. It is a claim that it is usually the invisible option: nobody advertises it, so nobody considers it. On climate there is something to choose: our sources say the Boxer needs active cooling in summer, and say the opposite of the breeds above.

Put any two of them side by side in the comparison tool, or see all fifteen native breeds, measured and unmeasured, on the breeds pages.
